Community, here is a call for your thoughts and perspectives.
A year ago, when I started to search spaces for conversations to have on inclusion and equitable data, I quickly realized that the idea of (social) equity is not limited to data itself.
The whole spectrum of
● choosing and defining a problem (to be solved by an algorithm) to
● forming narratives out of the outcome to
● maintaining value out of those algorithms
can be designed better.
So, after picking several community spaces to talk about human-centric AI, I am now turning that into a workshop.
This "towards human-centric AI" workshop aims not to take you from no AI to all AI. Instead, it is to make your AI adoption journey inclusive, equitable, and justice-oriented.
Here is some initial information on the workshop, and I am building the details in the coming weeks (to launch this end of Summer/early Fall).
This human-centricity in AI is a non-negotiable knowledge that we need collectively to embrace and challenge AI appropriately. Hence, all of that's easier said than done.

● To co-build the nuances here. Send me a message if you are interested in being my guiding JEDI force (what can I say, I am watching Star Wars these days). I will share more details on what this "co-building" can look like.
● If you are interested in staying updated as a future participant down the line, share your email. There is a little box at the bottom of the page.
Let's do this together!
